PARTNERS: Zanzibar Seaweed Company (ZASCO), Back of the Yards Algae Sciences (BYAS), Milele Zanzibar Foundation, Herald Advisors.

PROJECT: Structuring of a PPP equipped with proprietary technology for the value-added processing of sea weed products for export, generating significantly higher income for the local community, especially women farmers.

PROJECT: Synthesis of existing funding arrangements and innovative sources to address loss and damage from climate change and elaboration of Loss and Damage Fund operationalised at COP28.

DEBT SWAPS FOR SOCIAL INVESTMENTS 

PARTNERS: G-20, The Rockefeller Foundation

PROJECT: In 2022, developing countries spent $443.5 billion to service public debt - double the amount spent on social services.​  With support from the Rockefeller Foundation, we contributed expertise to the G20 on structuring and implementing debt swaps for health.

PROJECT: Design of an innovative finance mechanism to cover premium payments for parametric risk insurance to benefit countries eligible for assistance from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).

PROJECT: Design of an extractive industry micro-levy in Africa to fund the fight against chronic malnutrition in Sub-Saharan Africa through the dedicated public-private partnership UNITLIFE.

ENDANGERED SPECIES TECHNOLOGY FUND

PARTNERS: Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES)

PROJECT: Design of an impact investment fund focused on cutting-edge technologies such as optical and sound recognition and DNA for better tracking and tracing of CITES-regulated wildlife trade.

GIRLS EDUCATION BOND

PARTNERS: Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Open Society Foundations

PROJECT: Design of a social impact bond backed by new and existing pledges to raise capital for investments in education programs for girls in countries supported by the Global Partnership for Education.

PROJECT: Development of an CSR educational fund for the children of artisans engaged as teachers in workshops for international fashion and design students conducted by Somersault Studios in India.
